I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book of this type. That’s a very good thing. Tunnel Vision follows Liza and her father as they flee and travel to various places throughout the US fearing for their lives.
Tunnel Vision is very suspenseful. The fact that they cannot trust anyone, is so sad. We all know the media is relentless in tracking people, but the fact that this story could be real seriously upsets me. It doesn’t surprise me, but I hate how the media makes it so easy for someone who is honestly in danger to be detected easily. Because so many people were on the look out, I kept wondering who and when someone would spot Liza or her father.
I feel for Liza and her father, they have no idea why they are being hunted down and threatened every time they turn around and instead of breaking down and losing it like a lot of us would, they persevere. The people Liza meets along the way are fascinating, I wish we could’ve gotten to know them a bit better.
I do have a complaint about the ending though. It felt like small details of the story line were tied up with simple explanations. While it doesn’t ruin the story, I feel like a little more of an reason for things would’ve been nice. I’ve also read a lot of reviews complaining about Liza as a character. Specifically readers saying she’s immature for her age. She did come across a bit immature to me, but I’ve definitely read worse.
