Unbreakable Love by Angela Carling
Jennie Townsend is unlucky in love, so she is immediately suspicious when a mysterious new student named Nate tries to gain her friendship. But there is something special about Nate, and in spite of her best efforts Jennie finds her feelings for the boy growing deeper every day.

In fact, Nate is more special than Jennie can even imagine. He is a guardian angel, sent to protect Jennie during a most dangerous time in her life. To do so, he must first become close to her – but not too close. The rules for Protectors warn against physical contact and strictly forbid falling in love. But the more time Nate spends with Jennie, the harder the rules are to follow. Will Nate be able to save Jennie from a premature end, or will his own emotions – and Jennie’s – get in the way of completing the task for which he was specifically chosen?

If you haven’t noticed, this week I’ve been trying to review lots of great romance books! Unbreakable Love is no exception. From the synopsis I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it sounded like it’d be a cute read so I had to give it a try.

Jennie is your usual insecure female main character. She’s confused by why gorgeous Nate just wants to be friends, usually guys only want one thing, after all. She goes on dates here and there at the urging of her best friend, but because of bad history with a guy she throws herself into her school work.

Nate is the type of guy we all want. He’s pretty perfect, but he actually makes a few mistakes! Sometimes in YA the male character is flawless and it feels flat.

I’ve read a lot of YA books featuring angels, I’m always hesitant to pick another up. When you take an idea like “angels” it’s often hard to make it unique. The idea behind Unbreakable Love is different. It has a completely different feel and a fresh set of rules. Protectors are brought to the earth with the sole purpose of protecting a human who in some way will impact the world in a large way. They have a strict set of rules they must follow and consequences for breaking those rules.

Unbreakable Love is in third-person, but it alternates as to who is the “focus”. This gives you a bit more insight into just what Nate’s job is and his own personality. I loved that about this book. Some books need the mystery, but it worked well here.

If you are in the mood for another very cute, enjoyable romance this week, be sure and check out Unbreakable Love.

I received my copy of Unbreakable Love from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
