Paradise by Jill S. Alexander

Paisley Tillery is the drummer for a country rock band. If they can make it to the stage at the Texapalooza music fest, then Paisley will be closer to her dream of a career in music and a ticket out of her small Texas town.
Drumming and music are what Paisley has always wanted. Until the band gets a new lead singer, the boy from Paradise, Texas. With Paradise in her life, what Paisley wants, and what she needs, complicate her dreams coming true.

You know those days when you are in the mood for something romantic and fun? That’s where I was when I picked up Paradise to read. Music and a hot Texan…what’s not to love? I expected a light read. Paradise fulfilled that requirement, but gave me a little something more. It has depth and seriousness, disguised amongst it’s pages.

Paisley knows what she wants. She’s determined and just a bit feisty. She’s the drummer of an boy-filled country rock band. Her family life is complicated, her mom is just a bit too involved. I felt heavily for Lacey, Paisley’s sister. I want to know about her!

The boys in the band are each awesome. I’d love to explore them a bit more too – especially Cal, whom doesn’t really talk much during the book, but has lyrics throughout the chapters that made me need to know more. And Mr. Paradise. Swoon. A Latin hottie who plays the accordion!

Music has always played a big part in my life, right along with reading. So, reading about music always makes me happy.

Lovers of contemporary fiction need to check out this book! (Just be prepared for a very unexpected ending!)

I received my copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
